The Donor’s Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany (Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft) is one of the largest science funding institutions in Germany and has been awarding the seal “Innovation through Research” to companies for their special scientific responsibility since 2014. Now ppi Media has been honored for its research activity.
December 21, 2016. By awarding the seal, the Donor’s Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany has acknowledged ppi Media’s commitment to research and development. The award is based on an annual survey by the association’s institute for science statistics commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
ppi Media has been producing software for the media industry focusing on automated newspaper production since 1984, with many international large publishers and media companies amongst its customers. The company has been investing extensively in the fields of research and development, aiming to create the best solutions for the digital transformation of the media industry and to provide the technological conditions for real high-quality journalism. One of the company’s products is the innovative multi-channel editorial system, Content-X.
Jan Kasten, CTO of ppi Media GmbH, says about the award: “We are delighted that our commitment to research as a private company is being acknowledged. Developing new and innovative software products for the media industry and the investment into research linked to this are a central pillar of our company culture.” According to the association, less than 1% of Germany’s more than 3.5 million companies carry out research, making these companies extremely significant.
The Donor’s Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany was founded in 1920 and has been promoting education, science and innovation for about 100 years. The joint initiative of companies and foundations aims to improve the conditions for scientific work by funding programs and through initiatives. The research seal has been awarded to companies since 2014.
